Web-Translations has just completed their latest localization and development contract for Lipoxen, a leading drug and vaccine company. Lipoxen approached Web-Translations following the decision to redesign their site and implement an international angle prior to their upcoming visit to Japan to explore the possibilities for developing new relationships.

Wanting to have a ‘world class’ site Lipoxen chose Web-Translations for the full  redesign, XHTML build, optimization and Japanese localization of their new asset, designed to enable Lipoxen to compete in an increasingly competitive and specialised industry.  The brief was to come up with an innovative, corporate site design which rivalled major industry competitors and which demonstrated to their Japanese partners that Lipoxen were committed to doing business in Japan.

The challenge for Web-Translations was to deliver a culturally flexible website with international online presence for the European, American, and Japanese markets. “The site required a face lift, “ says Daniel Rajkumar, Managing Director at Web-Translations, “in order to compete with American rivals, Lipoxen needed an up to the minute site, which was easily adaptable for their international client base.

Images, colors and text needed to be interchangeable yet maintain the complex terminology of Lipoxen’s industry.“ Web-Translations assessed the existing site and recognised a need for a more corporate design and layout. The target markets were identified as principally American and Japanese so following a competitor analysis the design of the site was drawn up inline with a step by step strategy to market the site in international search engines.

The site was also required to be managed by Lipoxen to allow for product updates and news bulletins to be managed from London, giving the company full control over their new site. Rajkumar, says, “This project has been a fantastic opportunity to develop the internationalisation strategy of a company who have recognised their international potential. Working on the new site from original concept design, through development and localization to full launch and international online promotion has been an exciting time for Web-Translations. With the growing need for international presence on the internet to boost English market sales, a company’s website gives a great entry tool to gain a loyal customer base, simply by relating to customers in their own language. Once their interest is aroused it is simply a case of building the relationship up”.
