Whilst most office workers enjoyed their chocolate eggs and took the time to relax over Easter, Web-Translations took advantage of the opportunity to upgrade their server and network to meet their growing business demands. The new super-fast Gigabit network means an increase in productivity, morale and ultimately contributes to the service offered to customers, as the company joins just a handful of other giga enabled offices across England.

Web-Translations has made a real effort to gain maximum use from its ICT infrastructure.

Andrew Routledge, Technical Manager, explains “We use SharePoint Services to manage our workflow and collaborate with clients as well as the thousands of translators across the globe. Project Server is used to manage progress on the larger and more technical projects. Our VPN and Exchange setup means that the team has remote access to their mailbox so they can work from anywhere with a high speed internet connection Many of these benefits illustrate the fact that small businesses stand to gain by having a proactive attitude towards adopting new ICT.”

Following recent staff recruitment and new client wins such as Reynolds & Reynolds, the IT additions to our infrastructure and the new workflow system have helped improve client confidence by allowing them to overview project progress, and to raise or respond to issues or risks associated with projects. Other developments include semi-automating the administration involved in co-ordinating projects to increase productivity. Our most amazing development will be revealed at this years Internet World exhibition where visitors to their stand are sure to be amazed by their latest development.

Mr. Routledge summarises “The upgrade was easy, and has removed bottlenecks in our business enabling even faster growth as we meet more and more client demands. Speed of communication and reliability are essential to our outsourcing model and business growth in the fast changing ICT environment, and we are thrilled to be at the forefront of this technology’s application.”
