The iconic British stationer, Smythson of Bond Street, launches its Japanese website this week, created and localised by Web-Translations.
Smythson of Bond Street wanted to maximise their opportunities and expand in Japan where, for several years, they have been successfully selling their luxury stationery and leather goods.
As an established and distinguished brand in the UK, it was crucial for the Smythson of Bond Street brand to be communicated effectively in Japanese, so Web-Translations was asked to develop a site that would make it as easy, convenient and appealing as possible for Japanese customers to buy online.
Smythson of Bond Street needed a world-class showcase for the range of products being launched in Japan and Web-Translations had a dedicated team of Project Managers, specialist translators and developers poised to make this happen.
Daniel Rajkumar, Managing Director of Web-Translations, says “Japanese consumers love all things traditionally British as well as brand-named goods and Japan is one of the world’s most developed internet economies, so it’s no surprise that a quintessentially British brand like Smythson would be successful in Japan. We anticipate that this website will bring them even greater success there.”
Web-Translations was set up in 2002 by entrepreneur Daniel Rajkumar, and today works with a global network of 25,000 translators, linguists and developers, earning itself a reputation built on a commitment to consistently exceed expectations and to embrace and pioneer new technology.
